The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration will join religious communities across the nation for a coordinated Open House event on Sunday, Feb. 8, as part of the Year of Consecrated Life.

The Benedictine Sisters in Tucson, Arizona, will host an Open House from 2 to 4 p.m. They will offer monastery tours (including the liturgical vestments production department), historical displays and information about the community’s works and ministry of prayer. Refreshments will be served.

At the congregation’s monastery in Clyde, Missouri, people are invited to participate in the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament any time from 9:30 a.m. through 5:30 p.m. in the Adoration Chapel. Vespers will follow at 5:30 p.m.

“In keeping with Pope Francis’ request that religious communities celebrate the Year of Consecrated Life, we invite people to come and partake of our hours of Exposition on all Sundays but especially on Feb. 8,” Clyde Prioress Sister Rita Clair Dohn, OSB said. “We want others to know our community mission is to be a place of prayer for everyone, for the world and all its needs. Please join us in that ministry.”

The Year of Consecrated Life is a celebration honoring those who are called to serve the Church through various monastic and religious works. The Feb. 8 date was chosen to coordinate with the World Meeting of Families in Philadelphia, according to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.
