The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, put their culinary talents to great use in February by creating and donating several sweet delights for a local Chocolate Festival.

Each year before Valentine’s Day, the First Presbyterian Church in nearby Maryville hosts the event to raise funds for several area groups, such as the Children and Family Center of Northwest Missouri and the Shepherd’s Kitchen, which provides a free, weekly community meal. This was the first time an outside group had offered to donate items for the festival.

“Many of our Sisters love to bake, and when we heard about the Chocolate Festival, we knew it would be a great ecumenical opportunity to pair with another religious organization striving to do good in its community,” Sister Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB said.
