In turn, volunteers offer our communities an opportunity to be enriched by the presence, gifts, and talents which they bring to our common search for God.
Volunteers share in our ministries and works, which include the production and distribution of altar breads, making liturgical vestments, correspondence and clerical tasks, gardening, grounds and maintenance work, hospitality, care of the sick and elderly, housekeeping, and other services.
Volunteers join with us in our worship and prayer, including the Liturgy of the Hours (Divine Office), Eucharist, and lectio divina (sacred reading).
Volunteers receive an orientation which provides them with the information needed to benefit from the experience. This includes the history and mission of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and an introduction to Benedictine spirituality, prayer, and values.
Compensation and Benefits
In return for their services, volunteers receive the following benefits:
- room and board - orientation - ongoing mentoring - spiritual direction if desired - possibility of recreational opportunities, workshops, and classes
Volunteers receive no monetary compensation and are responsible for their own health insurance and personal expenses.
