Photo: This beautiful quilt made by Benedictine Sisters and friends is the main prize for an upcoming raffle to benefit the Sisters' monastery and works.
To celebrate the upcoming blessing of their recently renovated monastery, the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde are hosting a raffle, which includes items related to their monastic history. The main prize is a gorgeous quilt beautifully crafted by a family of one our our Sisters.
"We feel this is a special way for people to become part of the rich fabric of our tradition," Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB said.
Other prizes include a picture frame created using antique ceiling tiles once used in the motherhouse, a gift basket of handcrafted soaps from their Monastery Creations shop and a hand-embroidered decorative pillow.
"We wanted to offer gifts that are made from our own hands to celebrate this exciting time in our Congregation's history," Sister Dawn Annette added.
There is no cost to enter, but a $10 tax-deductible donation is suggested. Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the Sisters' work and ministries, which include prayer, hospitality, proclamation of the Gospel through the printed word, unending adoration of Christ in the Eucharist and the production of altar breads (also known as communion hosts).
The drawing will be held on Sunday, Sept. 2. The winner will not need to be present to win.
